For four days in December and two in January, Houston photographer Scott Edwards is offering a special opportunity to capture truly exceptional images of your child (or children). Scott is calling it A SHINING MOMENT IN BLACK & WHITE (OR COLOR).
While Scott’s studio is always open for a variety of work, these sessions are very specific. The session will be brief, and Scott will be using dramatic lighting and shooting with a high-end medium-format camera. Each participating family will be provided with a beautiful close-up portrait that is a work of art.
Intended for young people – four years old and up – your $395 booking fee includes one 20×20” mounted Fine Art print (your choice of two world-class papers), plus two digital files. Other product options are available including comparably priced Metal Prints or Fine Art Canvases. (This is an exceptional value.)

How does it work?
I’ll book one family (child) each hour. We’ll take a few minutes to get acclimated, I’ll photograph your young person for approximately 15 minutes, then I’ll share some product options and you’ll be on your way! This is a low-pressure, family friendly environment where you can stop the clock and make yourself at home.
Once we shoot, I’ll come back to you within five-six business days with images. You can then make a final selection. Once your choice is complete, I’ll do final touchups to the image and send files to my fantastic high-end fine art printer here in the US (I’ve used them for many projects and you’ll love the final product). Your art will be either delivered to your home (by me) or shipped directly to you, typically in one-two weeks depending on product and materials selected.
What if I have several children?
I need 15 minutes of shoot time with each child, teen, etc. So, we need to build in approximately 20 minutes for each one. I can discount the fee for multiple children.
Please know I’ve built in only a modest profit margin into each product offering. A second child will be discounted $75 and additional children can be discounted $100. For example, if you choose the Mounted Fine Art package, the $395 price will be $325 for the second child and $295 for any additional children. This covers the sitting fee, a Mounted 20×20 Fine Art print and two digital files per child… for medium format work and Fine Art products!
How should I dress my child?
I’ll be shooting in a very “tight” manner – shooting closeups of the child’s face. Please dress your child in dark clothing… I strongly suggest collarless shirts in dark colors such as black, charcoal grey or navy. Bare shoulders work well if you and your child are comfortable with this approach. In the final image, shoulders will be only slightly visible – again, this shoot emphasizes the human face.

How can I pay?
The fee is paid on the day of the shoot (or before). Payment choices include check, Venmo, Zelle or direct deposit.
What if I want to schedule a different type of shoot?
Count me in. Let’s talk and brainstorm a shoot that will provide you with beautiful images. Also, please note – my portfolio is pretty diverse. I do portraits, headshots, lifestyle and brand, family, small weddings, etc.
Option 1 Mounted Fine Art Print

You’ll receive a 20×20 Fine Art Print with premium archival inks that produce images with smooth tones and rich colors on your choice of exquisite, archival Fine Art Papers from the world’s leading manufacturers. A high-resolution large format printer ensures world-class quality. Archival means they’ll retain quality well beyond our lifetimes. Choose between Canson Infinity PrintMaKing Rag (a unique pure white paper without optical brighteners and an incomparable, fine and silky touch) or Hahnemuhle FineArt Baryta Satin (a paper with a traditional Gelatin Silver Fiber look and a subtle sheen, light surface texture and heavy weight.)
Your print will be mounted on Black 3/16″ Gatorfoam, a very rigid, durable, and lightweight backing that will not warp. You can choose mounting accessories – either a Gatorfoam mount block or plastic hangers.

Option 2 FRAME YOUR Fine Art Print
One 20×20 Framed Archival Fine Art Print in a 24×24 Frame + The Shoot + Two Digital Images
For an additional $155, your Archival Fine Art Print Print with a Classic Black or White Flat Wood Frame, or a 1 and 1/2” Whitewashed Barnwood Frame. (Other framing options are available as upgrades.). The frame includes an approximate 1 and 1/2” mat (white, black, oxford or smoke gray are suggested), and the print is protected with an acrylic cover.

Option 3 One 20×20 Premium Fine Art Canvas
Includes the Canvas, the Shoot + Two Digital Images
You’ll receive a 20×20 Premium Fine Art Lustre Canvas Wrap, with the image printed directly onto museum-quality canvas material using high- quality archival inks. The resulting print is stretched and stapled onto a wood artists stretcher bar frame; the 1 and 1⁄2” thick canvas can have a black, white or mirrored edge. The recommended finish is Lustre, which includes a matte-like surface with a subtle sheen. The back will be paper wrapped, and Sawtooth Hangers with bumpers are included.

Option 4 (FRAME Your Fine Art Canvas Wrap) One 20×20 Framed Premium Fine Art Canvas Wrap

Option 5 One 20×20 Metal Print
Includes An Exquisite Metal Print + the Shoot + Two Digital Images
Choose the 20×20 Metal Print option and you’ll receive a print made by infusing dyes directly into specially coated aluminum sheets to create a magical luminescence. Colors are vibrant, contrasts are wonderful. This product is waterproof and scratch- resistant. Mid-gloss metal surface is included, along with float hangers or an inset frame (all included in the final price).

Option 6 FRAME Your 20×20 Metal Print with either a Float Frame or Flush Mount Frame
Includes A Framed Metal Print + the Shoot + Two Digital Images
Frame your Metal Print with either a Float Frame or a Flush Mount. Flush Mount Frames are 1-1/4″ deep. They lend a substantial feel to the display. Available in black, silver, light pewter or dark pewter. Or add a White or Black Slim Float Frame to finalize your new art.
